A Revival

I have not blogged since August.  I am overwhelmed with feelings of self-loathing, well at least right this minute I am anyway.  I’ve piddled away hours upon hours of my life on catching up on twitter and Facebook, writing emails and watching The Food Network.  But I am here to tell you that I am turning over a new leaf.

I pledged National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo).  For those of you wondering, I have indeed lost my mind and I’m very excited about it.  You see I have a wicked addiction to perfection.  I’m sure this is not uncommon among writers.  We fear bad grammar, typos and clichéd metaphorical language like most people fear spiders, snakes and family gatherings.  But there comes a point when this perfectionism is merely an excuse, merely another way of saying “I can’t”.

So today, and at the very least until December 1, I say DOWN WITH PERFECTIONISM.
